| | | Grass ID Can anyone ID this grass for me please. Yet again I didn't think at the time of getting any better photos  but I can say is was 3ft tall and on a footpath near the Thames in Berkshire.

| | | Re: Grass ID Yes, I agree. An interesting grass, as it is palatable and well grazed when it is young and tender (Ah, I remember... but no.), and when it has grown on a bit it is very coarse. The saying is, it will feed 5 cattle but starve one. It forms great tussocks af coarse white bottoms of the stem, like a bunch of spring onions. It is also deep rooted and so to a certain extent it is drought resistant.
