Some other common names are ,Wake robin,Jack in the Pulpit,Cows and Bulls,Adam & Eve...,who knows there might be more names for this than the Inuit have for snow  .Your post was more informative ,Loripo,than mine and took just that millisecond more My post was clipped for speed Jason |

Red Hot Poker is the one i know it by, i have quite a few growing under my hedge and also along the river bank.

Well, Geoffrey Grigson lists 98 names (if I have counted right), some of them not to be repeated on a family site. The one I like most is "Kitty-come-down-the lane-jump-up-and-kiss-me", from Kent. Red-hot Poker is listed as a Somerset name.
