| | | A Dramatic Escape Hello,
Yesterday evening this garden escape of Pampas Grass caught my eye clinging to the fiery sandstone of Yaverland cliffs, IoW. Generally I find garden plants are a blot on the wild landscape but to my eye this one looks more at home here than in its usual UK garden surroundings.
My flower book says its needs 'well-drained soil..full sun' - it's got that then.
Thanks for looking,
Rob

| | | Re: A Dramatic Escape Interesting photo! I've seen this plant naturalised in the dunes on Tresco + a few places around London.
In some places such as California it's considered an invasive pest. |

| | | Re: A Dramatic Escape Hi Aeshna,
While not defending Pampas Grass, I imagine it would look reasonably at home in the Scillies.
A sight better than the forests of garden centre daffodils which pop up all over the countryside in spring anyway!

| | | Re: A Dramatic Escape I was drawn to this thread full of curiosity. "A Dramatic Escape" listed in the Wildflowers, Plants & Tree Forums???
Not as adventurous as I thought...but nevertheless a good shot, Rob! What a dramatic backdrop
