| | | Crane's-bill I think but which? If I'd realised there were so many varieties I'd have taken more photos and more notes...
Seen at Brede High Woods, East Sussex, on 5 September. It was around 20-30cm tall.
Any help gratefully received!

| | | Re: Crane's-bill I think but which? The vast majority of the plants I come across are the hybrid G. x oxonianum but, although the angle of the photo makes it hard to be certain, the lack of obvious veins on the pink petals would suggest to me that this one's a genuine G. endressii. |

| | | Re: Crane's-bill I think but which? Many thanks for the replies everyone. I really wish I'd taken different angles plus a few shots of the leaves.
Maybe this enlargement will help a little...
I take it this is a garden escape, or a cross with a garden flower, and not a true wildflower?

Dave P. | Yes, garden escape; G. x oxonianum is a fairly common escape + is a vigorous plant; the parent G. endressi is far less often seen as an escapee. |

It's much, much the commonest in the Bristol area; G. x oxonianum is one of the most frequent of all the escapes, and I probably find 50 for every one genuine G. endressii I've ever come across. |
