My first post on this very good site ... and apologies if its been asked before but I would like to know what sort of berry this is ? I made the cardinal sin (without ill effects !) of tasting it and it was quite sweet

| | | Re: Unidentified berry Berries ARE edible when ripe, pop 'em out of their skins rather than picking them, they have a taste of toffee/burnt sugar/caramel. I had one of these turn up last year, this year it's over 3 metres tall and so heavy with fruit I got about 2 litres of brown juicy jelly. Warning, It does not wash out of white cotton!
