Hi everyone,
I'm normally on the fungi forums and was out this evening looking for specimens with my dog. Instead of musgrooms I saw a fruit on the floor which was the size of a cherry but looked like had purple skin the colour and texture of a plum.
When I opened it the flesh was orange like a plum and smelt and tasted incredibly sweet (I know I shouldn't have tasted it but it smelt so good I couldn't resist)!
The tree was about 20 feet high with thin branches and small leaves the largest of which was about 4cm long and 1.5cm wide.
Can anybody tell me what these are please? If needs be I can post pics of the fruit and leaves but if anybody can help without these it would save me a bit of time!!!
Thanks in advance - Rich
