| | | A lot of flowers needing I.D. please All of these were found in marshy areas around the New Forest (the last two were in a town nearby).
The first one is just like a garden Lobelia but I did not expect to find it in the middle of the New Forest.
Not sure if these are both the same species.
Greater Bird's-foot trefoil?
A type of St. John's Wort? Never seen one grow across the ground like this one before.
Speedwell
Bedstraw
Mint family?
And this one has been bugging me for ages, never been able to put a name to it, but I think it must be related to Wood-Sorrel. (This one had 6 petals)
Similar to fennel
Apologies for the amount I've thrown out here, I really need to learn some common plants a bit better! |

| | | Re: A lot of flowers needing I.D. please The first one is Lousewort - Pedicularis sylvatica.
The St John's-wort could be Trailing St John's-wort - Hypericum humifusum.
The Bedstraw is probably Common Marsh-bedstraw - Galium palustre.
The yellow sorrel is indeed Yellow-sorrel - Oxalis corniculata.
Can't help with the others, sorry.

| | | Re: A lot of flowers needing I.D. please Thanks for the replies. I didn't know Fennel smelled. (Apparently Dil smells of Aniseed which is a seperate flower completely?) I know the Dil in my garden does.

| | | Re: A lot of flowers needing I.D. please Is that Speedwell really the Heath species? It was growing along the ground and not upright like the Heath does and it only had one flower on each stem. |

8 could be Catmint (Nepeta cataria) - though not if you found it growing in a marsh! |
