| | Unidentified fruit and Tree Five years ago I planted a Kernal from what I thought was a plumb (mauve).
The tree produced fruit after the first year and this year has been the best with appx. 10 fruits, leaving six after the winds. The fruits are the size of an apricot but have the colouring of a small peach, with a soft furry skin and the rosie blush effect. The consistency of the fruit is that of a plumb, which ripens very quickly and is extremely sweet. A knowledgeable gardening friend cannot exactly identify the fruit or the leaves to match either an apricot, plumb or peach. |

| | | Re: Unidentified fruit and Tree Looking at the leaves and fruit I'd say it was an Apricot (Prunus armeniaca). I didn't realise they were hardy under UK conditions, but it's listed as an escape on the BSBI database so a few clearly do spring up from discarded fruit. |
