| | | Flower I.D.s and Blue Pimpernels Hi,
I found this at Testwood Lakes yesterday:
I have seen it in gardens before and its not in my book so I think it might be a cultivated plant?
Also found this:
Its a bit like Dove's foot Crane's-bill but the leaf and flower is slightly different.
Finally this at Old Winchester Hill (Not like Blackberry or Dewberry)
----
Blue Pimpernels: I've been trying to find these for ages! |

| | | Re: Flower I.D.s and Blue Pimpernels The orange lily-type plant is Montbretia (Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora), a common garden escape. |

| | | Re: Flower I.D.s and Blue Pimpernels Your orange flower is a Crocosmia, or Montbretia. Originally S. African but have become naturalised here in places. |

| | | Re: Flower I.D.s and Blue Pimpernels Thanks for the orange flower I.D., the leaf of the Crane's-bill does not appear to match Round-leaved. |

| | | Re: Flower I.D.s and Blue Pimpernels 2. Cut-leaved Crane's-bill (Geranium dissectum)
3. A Blackberry (Rubus) of some sort - there are over 400 species in the UK!
4. Good find - but whether it is really Blue Pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis ssp. foemina) or the blue form of Scarlet Pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis ssp. arvensis) is hard to say. The true Blue Pimpernel has 3 cells in the hairs on the petals while Scarlet Pimpernel has 4! |

| | | Re: Flower I.D.s and Blue Pimpernels Thanks for the I.D.s, shame about the Blue Pimpernel as I tried to press it and resulted in a withered flower with petals falling off, I didn't realise there was 2 different subspecies. Quote: |

| Umm, I'm only familiar with 8 of those....and i'm not even confident that Dewberry is what I think it is.

The Geranium might just be a young or withered Cut Leaved Cranesbill and for the Bramble I would leave it as Bramble Those are a separate field of botany altogether |

| | | Re: Flower I.D.s and Blue Pimpernels Judging by the one leaf by the flower I still think it's rotundiflorum - dissectum has pointed leaf-sections. |
