This morning I was walking a lady I look after back after a shopping trip in town and walking along the underpasses I was really amazed at the colour of the grass verges! Growing among the grass, providing a riot of colour, was tufted vetch, daisies, red & while clover, buttercups, self-heal amongst others. It really was an amazingly colourful sight - and made even better to me because the lady I look after has poor eyesight & a learning disability and she was really looking at them.
Then imagine my disappointment around the corner when council workers were cutting the next verge to green stubble
What a waste. Obviously they were only doing their job and had no say in it but I can't see what purpose it serves keeping it cut so short.
Does anyone feel the same way?
