| | [ID] Cornflower (?) and... not sure! Hi all,
I saw these two yesterday, I believe the first is a Cornflower, but unsure of the second. It kind of reminds me of a clover and an orchid. It was growing as a kind of bush, about 18ins tall with multiple flowers. The particular petals remind me of a trefoil. I have no idea, I'm rambling! 16/07/2009 Cornflower maybe... and what? ...both found nearby to each other in a park.
Thanks for any suggestions on either!
Take care,
Jason |

I'm thinking your first looks more like Chicory, or possibly even common blue sow thistle, rather than cornflower But I can't be sure without leaf info.
The second has a look of a restharrow, or maybe purple milk vetch - certainly one of the pea family.
Regards,
Mike. |

Thanks again! |

The second I think is Lucerne - Medicago sativa, as you say it grows like a bush and the leaves are smooth-edged. |
