| | | ID Help Help appreciated with these two plants. The first one is a Pokeweed, I am not sure which one, but the flower spike was compact and erect with white flowers.
The second is a grass. There were several spikes in the one tuft, it looks like a Rye Grass that has been affected by herbicide, but the other grasses all around it were quite normal. Thanks. |

| | | Re: ID Help The first one I'd say was Indian Pokeweed, Phytolacca acinosa - good find, it's become a bit of a bogey plant for me this season having failed five times so far at supposedly "reliable" sites
I'm afraid I don't "do" grasses (too cowardly ), so can't help you there |

| | | Re: ID Help Rye grass is very variable and this is a 'crested' form which is quite common. Not caused by herbicide. It can be quite fun collecting all the weird forms of Rye grass of which there are many. Good hunting. |
