Dotted Loosestrife and Whorled Loosestrife

Is there any way to easily tell the difference between Dotted Loosestrife and Whorled Loosestrife?

There's no such plant as Whorled Loosestrife on the BSBI database, and by searching in Google the only one that comes up is Lysimachia quadrifolia, which seems to be an American plant (it's not listed in my Alien Plants of the British Isles, so doesn't seem to have been recorded from Britain)

Here's a photo of it, anyway - it's a completely different plant from the Dotted Loosestrife, L. punctata, that turns up as a garden throw-out almost anywhere

Whorled Loosestrife is Lysimachia verticillata and many of the plants which have been previously called Dotted Loosestrife could apparently be this species. Unfortunately I am not sure of the differences...
