| | | Re: Another unidentified plant Hurrayyyy!!! Someone from the RHS website forum has identified my odd plant. It's Campanula Takesimana "Beautiful Trust" and originates in Korea. Now, how on earth it got from Korea to my old plant-pot is anybody's guess but never mind, it's here and I'll cherish it now.
Thanks to everyone for examining the photos of my little rarity. |

| | | Re: Another unidentified plant What a turn-up! So John Ceterach was on the right track. Will it bear seeds I wonder, or does it need another plant to fertilise it? So glad you've got a solution. It's been fun. |

| | | Re: Another unidentified plant Yes indeed, John was on the right track but it's not abnormal after all. I had a reply from Birmingham Botanical Gardens also identifying it correctly and they've asked me for some seeds if/when it ripens. I'll have to wait and see what happens with it when the flowers finish but it would be nice to think that Birmingham would introduce it into their fabulous gardens. Well worth a visit, by the way. It has been fun Hedera, thanks for your interest. |

Thanks to everyone for examining the photos of my little rarity. | Great find
Presumably it sprung up from seed lying dormant in the compost - I had a couple of Spotted Cranesbills ( Geranium maculatum), a North American weed, appear from a standard bag of B&Q dirt last summer
Assuming it definitely wasn't planted, I'd recommend you also send a photo to the BSBI, because I'm pretty sure it'd be a first British record |

It's been fun. | Gives me a warm glow in my toes!! it just looked like a Campanula. I have actually grown "normal" Campanula takesimana and a fine plant it is. I must admit I don't like this mutant but there you go, thank goodness we are not all the same.

It is on sale commercially so how can it be a first record?
All the best

As for your cacti, well, if you actually sowed the seeds yourself, that might be stretching it a bit far - although it's probably the same route that most modern records of Corncockle & Cornflower come from |
