Purple flowers for id
hello, i was walking in stapleford woods the other day and found these 2purple
I think this is a type of orchid


and not sure what this is

I think the first one is Downy Woundwort -Stachys germanica

Second looks like Rhododendron ponticum flower. Can't see any leaves.

1) Don't think its Downy Woundwort due to the leaves not being hairy enough. Looks more like the flower of Hedge Woundwort , S. sylvatica

2) R. ponticum is correct
