| | | Unidentified Plant/Fungus - Can anyone help? Hi,
This is probably a really obvious one but i've no idea what this is. I have an Eldar, Black Lace growing in a tub i my garden and it's always had a small green growth of some kind at it's base.
Since the suns been out a bit of late the green plant has started to grow a bit and these shoots with heads that have 9 or 10 points on each have appeared. It appears almost like a green fungus. Could any of you help me to identify what it is?
It doesn't seem to be taking over and the Elder is doing well but i'd still like to know what it is that's moved in with it.
Cheers for the help.

Your "Thing" , is a Liverwort - Marchantia polymorpha I'd be tempted to just leave it there, it won't harm your Plants, and I personally think it looks quite interesting.

| | | Re: Unidentified Plant/Fungus - Can anyone help? Thanks you very much and cheers for the warm welcome. I didn't realise it was my first post. I came to the site a year or so ago looking for ideas for attracting birds to the garden and perhaps installing a small pond. My pond went well and the birds polished off all of my carrots and most of my chili pepper plants today so I must be doing something right
I will be leaving the liverwort there Like I said it hasn't affected the elder plant and it certainly is interesting. Almost like an alien landscape. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
