Yes Ron I think it's quite a rarity. It only grows in a few locations in the UK.

That's a wonderful find Chris! It relegates the bee orchid I found today to dandelion status!
In the South Lancashire Flora there is an account of a lizard orchid being found by a child on the Formby dunes North of Liverpool in 1954. The child picked it!! The orchid never reappeared. |
