Unidentified plant

Hi all. I am trying to ID this plant for my mum. Shes extremely good with plants so Im surprised this one has stumped her. She grows veg and plants, so the soil is quite rich. It was growing in a shaded area of the garden (Location - Bristol, South West).

It looks like Pendulous sedge Carex pendula

It grows big and has a tendancy to spread more than you want it too so look out for little plants cropping up all over

Pendulous Sedge -yes. As you say, it tends to grow in shady spots in damper soil with a high organic content.

A very useful food stuff if breeding Harvest Mice.
