Unidentified Plant
Can anyone id this plant for me? I bought it a few weeks back before it had any growth and it was labelled as a Buddleia but looking at it now the leaves seem the wrong texture and shape for a Buddleia or do they look like this when young

Definitely not a buddleia Pfeather

I think it could be a hibiscus..there are some hardy ones.If it is, then a nice shrub, but not so good as a buddleia for insects etc (IMHO)

No definitely not a Buddleia - 100% sure. It looks like a cultivar hybrid between Oak and Acer I'm not sure but someone will be able to help later

O.k thanks guys hopefully somebody can name it, I'm hoping it doesn't grow into a tree! it's currently planted under a hawthorn!

Hibiscus syriacus- there are various cultivars; this deciduous species is fully hardy + popular with bees.

Many thanks aeshna5 still a nice plant to have so I'm not too dissapointed! I have now moved it to a more appropriate sunny location
