Smile Unidentified plant in garden


This grew in an error where we have planted a Suttons variety pack of wild flower seeds. Certainly is not one of them. Is now about 3 foot tall, very crisp, easily broken, quite thick stem. Look through all our wild flower books but cannot identify it. Can anyone help, its driving us nuts!

Thanks Adam but we have compared the leaves to wild chicory and the fact there are no flowers, it isn't chicory. Maybe I should have mentioned that this is its second year, lasted through the winter, dying back slightly.

Looks a bit like a Milk thistle, these grow to 4/5 ft in the right place. Let it flower and wait and see!
