| | | Tree/bush id Can anyone id this tree (or it might be a bush) I took today at Moor Copse nature reserve in west Berkshire. I didn't really take much notice of it while I was there so all I have to go on is the picture of these flower & leaves.

| | | Re: Tree/bush id Glad someone else thinks it's Spindle. My first thought too, but wasn't entirely sure I'd eliminated Buckthorn. You can make out a curled leaf in the background which is a common mite gall on Spindle caused by Eriophyes convolvens. |

| | | Re: Tree/bush id My Spindle is E. europaeus if I remember correctly (I'll check its credentials later). I took some shots as a comparison. Whilst I remain fairly certain this is Spindle, Clare, I can see some obvious differences - colour of anthers, shape of petals and leaves etc.
Could it be a different cultivar or even different species??
