Difficult to say without a pic of the bloossom and leaves. Quite a few fruit trees are in blossom at the moment. If it is a country hedgerow it could be Bird cherry, Blackthorn or if misidentified croetigus (hawthorn). If in a garden then there are a number of cultivars and hybrids of Cherry.

I can't see how to attach my image of the flowers. Perhaps I have made a mistake and joined the wrong forum. I just needed it identified. Peter |

| | | Re: Is this Bird Cherry Blossom? Interesting post Peter. I've no idea what they are but I'm sure the guys will soon tell you.
I'd love your recipe for wine. I'm going to have a go at making elderberry this year if I can find a recipe on the Treehouse forum. |

| | | Re: Is this Bird Cherry Blossom? Well done for persevering - most of us have had problems: you get used to the system.
It looks like a Prunus and those long paniclesof flowers are typical of bird cherry, Prunus padus. I'm sure someone else will confirm this (or not!).
I've never heard of these being used in wine-making; but why not?
PS: Ah, I see Tiggrx has got there first!
