| | | Sorting by colour?
Hello, newbie here, liked the look of the site and decided to sign up.
I't's nice just to browse the photos and learn plant names. 
However, am looking for a wildflower guide that sorts by colour, and fromwhat I've seen, the images here haven't got any colour labeling that allows me to search or sort by colour. Or is there?
If there isn't a way to do that, does anyone know of a site that does? |

Hi dglp! The old Collins Guide (Wild Flowers of Britain and Northern Europe by Richard and Alistair Fitter, illustrated Marjorie Blamey) had a key by flower colour, but I'm not sure if that's been carried into the revised edition ...and I'm not sure if you're interested in buying books  |

Dorian Kindersly do a lovely one 'Wild Flowers of Britain and Northwest Europe' by Christopher Grey-Wilson. It's not colour coded but they have really handy 'flow charts' in the front where you can check the number of petals, stamen shape, leaf shape etc, and get to the right section of the book. It's helped my ID skills no end .

Its by Lippert & Podlech 1994, that's keyed by colour (ISBN 0 26 16740 3 x). Bought it at a car boot sale £1. It's not definitive, but like you dglp, I find it easier to ID flowers by colour first. Not found an online guide that keys flowers by this method yet. And I agree, for a novice, it seems the best way. |

The "Collins" beats it by 22 pages (not including intro & indexing).
