| | | Re: Bluebells at Ashridge Oh, totally forgot about these
I will have to clone myself, I have so much to see at the moment, and they are all miles apart. If I leave this until Sunday, will they still be good to view?

| | | Re: Bluebells at Ashridge I should think they'd be just past their best HW, but still pretty good.
To reach the best area I found to photograph them: park at the monument and walk back down the drive for about 300 yards to a bridleway sign pointing right (or better still park here!). Turn right and follow the bridleway for about half a mile, you can't miss them!
Or (for a bit shorter walk): from Ringshall, continue on road past the monument - the road turns left, then right, then there is a large field beyond a hedge on the right. Where the field ends and the trees begin again, the road bears slightly left and their is a parking space on the left. Carefully cross the road and follow the bridleway opposite (near the edge of the field, which often has large numbers of Fallow Deer in it). Soon paths go off on half-right which should take you through the Bluebells, or go straight on and turn right at a bridleway crossing (this is the bridleway from the monument drive). |
