Pretty blue wildflower (?)

Not sure if this is a wild flower or not.....but it's been in my garden for a couple of years now. Can't seem to find it in my books. I do love it though!

Looks like Green Alkanet - Pentaglottis sempervirens

This is green alkanet, Pentaglottis sempervirens. Not native but widely naturalised.

When you say widely naturalised, it certainly is. I have found it in many quite isolated places, but a little research has always turned up some human habitation in the area in the past. It does seem to be quite choosy about where it lives, we had it in the garden in a house we had, tried for 10 years to pass it on to some neighbours, it never took.

It's extremely common in the Bristol area - along the roads above the Avon Gorge, it's the dominant species in some areas.

A very attractive plant, though

Can't say it's choosy - it grows all over the garden here, bees love it and thus set seed like mad which grows in all crooks and crannies. Chop it off and it revives within days! It is a handsome plant though.
