| | | Grass of Parnassus?...and others for ID:-) On my walk today, I came across this wild flower in some damp(ish) woodland.
Looking through the books, I wondered if it could be Grass of Parnassus?
If so, it would be a first for me!
All pics are the same flower. It's just mixed with grass in pic 2....
Also, I found these tiny soft looking leaves. Any idea what they belong to?....
Finally, not a wild flower....but what it this? I really liked it! ......

| | | Re: Grass of Parnassus?...and others for ID:-) Grass of Parnasus comes out very much later in the year. Up here in the Yorkshire Dales it isn't really out much before the end of July or even into August. Must admit it's one of my favourite flowers and well worth looking out for. These are a couple of shots of it from the Gallery:

| | | Re: Grass of Parnassus?...and others for ID:-) Pink Purslane, that's the stuff. Grows all over the banks of the River Dart in Devon. Knew I knew it from somewhere. Another Yank doing rather well over here.

3) quince | Leaves on 1 are nothing like those of Greater Stitchwort, but I don't recognise the plant! (I should have recognised it- see it's Pink Purslane)
3 agree Japanese quince, Chaenomeles cv. |

| | | Re: Grass of Parnassus?...and others for ID:-) Gtr stitchwort was a guess to be honest. I knew it looked a bit wrong but it was the closest thing I could find on BWF.com . Musn't have recognised pink purslane because its white |

| | | Re: Grass of Parnassus?...and others for ID:-) I knew 1 wasn't Stitchwort, as that was all the way up the side of the path that led to the wood!...... and I see it every year mixed in with bluebells etc.
Pink Purslane is a first for me anyway, so I'm quite happy with that!
I'll go back in a week or so and see if the Corydalis is in flower. Would be nice to get a pic of it then too!
Thanks guys.
Tracey.
