| | | Re: ID for this white Flower anyone I agree with Wood Stitchwort.
It can't be Water Chickweed because that has 5 styles and this flower has only 3.
It can't be Common Chickweed because that has one line of hairs (or occasionally two) down the stem, whereas this plant has a completely hairy stem.
The hairy leaves, hairy stem, 3 styles, petals very deeply divided & twice the length of sepals - all point to Wood Stitchwort.
EDIT - The flower also has 10 stamens - I've highlighted the 10th in this copy of the photo (need to click on it to see): -

Mike.

| | | Re: ID for this white Flower anyone It does look to have a very upright habit, which wouldn't suggest a chickweed and would more suggest a stitchwort, but the leaves aren't very clear in the photo. Stitchwort leaves are narrow - is that wider leaf actually attached to the stem of the flower shown, oor is it in the background? Or is there an out-of-focus narrow leaf attached to the stem? That might be causing some of the confusion. If the leaves are narrow, I'd go for a stitchwort, rather than a chickweed. Good to hear the identifying marks from contributors, TY. Stitchwort is presently a big feature of some of the hedgerows around me and looks lovely!
