| | | identify this probably obvious plant please! Please could you help identify this plant, it has grown very quickly and no matter how much I cut it back it seems to grow back in a day or 2. I wonder if it will have nice flowers, it isnt bad looking but just takes over!
Thanks |

If it is, it should look rather special when it gets wet.

| | | Re: identify this probably obvious plant please! thanks hedge witch,
I have googled it and it does look like Alchemilla Mollis, dont know how it seems to have suddenly appeared! It grows at an amazing rate and I am constantly cutting it back, havent really looked at it when its wet though. The flowers dont look that amazing on google either but I will wait and see when it flowers. Its just in the wrong place at the moment, maybe moving it might help.... it seems very tough.
Thanks again |

| | | Re: identify this probably obvious plant please! I think A. mollis has a tendency to self-seed and spread freely, from what I have read. So if it is this, I guess maybe a neighbour has it somewhere nearby?
I agree, the yellow wispy flowers are nothing special, and I really think its best feature are it leaves, and the way they sparkle after rain.

| | | Re: identify this probably obvious plant please! thanks, googling "mallow" it looks like this too! the leaves have very fine hairs on them and they are hairy. I like the flowers of the mallow much better, but have seen what height it can reach! Just have to keep fighting with it now, it will be interesting to see what colour flowers it will have, purple or white.
Thank you everyone...so we are sure its mallow?? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
