| | | Re: The KT Plant Diaries 2009 I think I also trespassed to find this Spring Cinquefoil because an older botanist with us knew it was there but this plant was on farmers land near pheasant rearing pens and the back of a golf course. I couldn't pass a chance on the cinquefoil so climbed over and got it. The farmer didn't see us though |

I took my dog for a walk to my local woods and I found some Oxford Ragwort which is identified by the black tips shown in the photo.
I also called in on some Woodruff which I found last year and it was in full flower.
Another plant seen was Hedge Mustard
I was chuffed to find and identify this Bur Medick Its identified by the small size and untoothed pointed stipules.
Another plant seen was Lady Fern
And Meadow Foxtail was in flower
And Lily of the Valley was also found |

On the first summer nights walk of the season, we went for a walk along a River but first called in on a WildLife Trust Headquarters with a garden and a meadow out front.
An original target was Borage but it wasn't in flower.
The flowerbeds were full of Green Alkanette, Wood Forget Me Not and Cowslip and Polyanthuses
Where we failed on the Borage, we got Bog Arum.
Along the river was Crosswort and Sweet Vernal-grass
In the woods back to the car, Bush Vetch was seen along with Sweet Cicely, Three Nerved Sandwort, Cow Parsley and Creeping Buttercup |

A walk into my local park called Worden provided some good plants. It was quite a sunny afternoon but the paths were all muddy and I returned caked with mud. The main target was Meadow Saxifrage
This I found and in a nice sunny place as well. Another plant seen was the Three Nerved Sandwort and Chickweed
A surprise to find was this Large Bittercress
The gardens provided me with this Euphorbia polychroma
And on the way home I found a nice specimen of Lilac
And on my drive was Wavy Bittercress and Groundsel
And our Bird Cherry was in blossom | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
