1) This shrub was in a garden. It was quite a spiny plant and these flowers were only quite small 
2) My grandma had this arum in a pot in her kitchen. Any ideas?  |

1) I've talked to a few people and it has been narrowed down to Spiraea
any agreements or thoughts on the arum? |

If as you say the white flowered shrub was "spiny" it sounds more like Pyracantha, (same family as spiraea).
The arum looks like one of many varieties sold as calla lilies for houseplants, in lots of colours from white to dark red. |
