| | | Two County Antrim Wildflowers for ID
The first photo was taken in the grounds of Antrim Castle Estate on April 21st 2007. The second photo of a small plant/wildflower was taken in Toomebridge, N.Ireland on 22nd April 2008. It was growing amongst moss/lichen on the top surface of an old stone wall. Help with IDs please.

1 looks like marsh marigold was it growing in a wet area?
2 Looks like ground Ivy

I'd agree with that - 1 is Marsh-marigold (Caltha palustris) & 2 is Ground-ivy (Hedera colchica) |

I have never seen ground ivy with such red leaves - is this a garden variant or just a weirdo?  |

Thanks Tiggrx for this information. It was indeed growing in a sunny place ie on top of a wall with nothing to block the sunlight.
