| | | Mystery primula
Sorry about the awful photos - I couldn't get any closer than about sixty feet away from the plant and it took every bit of zooming & subsequent cropping from my 12MP digital camera to even get these
Some kind of Primula, small and compact, and presumably thrown out with garden rubbish at some time or another. I've not been able to find a match online, but hopefully someone might be able to offer me an ID? |

| | | Re: Mystery primula Your photos look like abstract art
After a bit of googling the possibilities could be
P. denticulata
a stunted P. japonica
but this could be just another garden weirdo thrown out. I can even see some Iceplant in the background.
and heres a link showing all the possible primulas http://www.auriculaandprimula.org.uk..._primulas.html

Thanks, KT; Primula denticulata looks a good match, for some reason I hadn't found that one when I was searching myself
Good site, too - that'll be bookmarked for future reference |

| | | Re: Mystery primula A sad looking plant David but it seems that's what it is as we had a much better version in our garden back home.Yours look like the poor relations ha ha.Nothing to do with the camera,it's the plant itself.Obviously not a lot of water to hand there. |

| | | Re: Mystery primula Yes, it's a rather sorry-looking specimen
The camera I use isn't fantastic, but more than suits the purpose; I had to use maximum zoom, though, and then crop & enlarge again through Nero PhotoSnap to get a viewable image, so even with 12 megapixels it's turned into a pretty poor shot
I'm going to have to make a serious effort to get a better one, since it's a plant I certainly won't come across all that often in the wild |
