| | | A couple more for ID!
I wouldn't normally bother to photograph a plant this immature, but the leaf markings were so distinctive that I thought it should be possible to put a name to it without flowers or much by the way of growth! Trouble is, I haven't gotten anywhere; it's like nothing I've ever seen before and, since the Leigh Woods area of Bristol is home to all kinds of aliens, it really could be absolutely anything! Some kind of houseplant, perhaps?
In much the same area, these squills ( Scilla sp.) were well naturalised in a short-grass roadside verge. I haven't been able to ID them with confidence, though, and it's clearly an early-flowerer since when this was taken on March 19th, most plants in the group were already past their best. This was the most pristine specimen amongst them! |

I am not sure on the Scilla - maybe S. messeniaca??? |

| | | Re: A couple more for ID! One more, a shrub that I came across whilst hunting down Iberis sempervirens at the Avon Gorge. Presumably a garden throw-out, though I guess it's possible it may be a planted relic. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
