Unidentified plant for ID

This was growing on the edge of a farmer's field. Is it something coming up from a previous crop or is it something else?

No flowers, but it seems to have very distinctive leaves.

It is a Burdock (Arctium sp.)

agreed with Tiggrx. They are confusing at this stage because you need the flowers to determine lesser , greater, intermediate etc.

yeah and unless you know the leaves at this stage in their development, you wouldn't guess at a burdock!!.......well i wouldn't....

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on it and see what Burdock it turns into.
