Could this be Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata)?

No flowers on this, but was trying to ID from the leaves and I've come up with Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata) as an option.



They are coming up in the garden and I've also seen thick clumps around the edges of the woods. (I think they are the same thing...)

Anyone got any other suggestions?

This looks more like lesser celandine leaves. Garlic has leaves with serrated edges and are petiolate: no stalks from stem.Pinch it and it smells!!

It is Garlic Mustard, celandines have a smaller, thicker dark green leaf.

Yes Garlic Mustard, coming through now, as you say by wood edges etc - jack by the hedge another of its names.
Good food plant for orange tips.

Agree with the others that it is Garlic Mustard - and just to clarify, petiolate means that the leaves do have stalks, as in the picture.

Garlic Mustard for me too.

Pick a leaf, crush it in your hand and smell it. That's right - garlic!

not to be confused with ramsons which has the same smell when the leaves are crushed
