Arum maculatum or something similar?

These are coming up in the garden and they look sort of like Lords and Ladies, Arum maculatum, but not quite, although I'm really not sure. They weren't around last year, which is a bit confusing, but perhaps that is because I turned over the area quite extensively in the autumn.

Anything else they could be?

There do seem to be a lot of them around this year in the woods. I'm not sure if it is just my imagination, or if I am just becoming more aware of the plants now that I am trying to identify them.

The latter I think Chris - its like cars, once you own a particular brand they suddenly seem more common.

not all are guaranteed to flower though

Perhaps that is why I think I am noticing them more. I only discovered what they were last year when they were flowering, so I probably only noticed those that were flowering and not all those that were not.

Hopefully I get some flowers on those in my garden...
