Hmmm... I will have to say yes, it is. Mostly clean, green leaves with only minor red staining on the topper-most leaves.

Not sure I agree with that - most of the Henbit Dead-nettle plants on google images show the lower leaves hugging the stem with no stalk, as does the picture in Roger Phillips' book "Wild Flowers of Britain".

Definitely Lamium purpureum: all leaves on stalks, and rounded teeth on leaves. |

Its funny but this thread made me go outside and look at the weedy dead nettles in my back garden today! I was pretty certain that they were red dead nettle but talk on here about the other version made me wonder! Always good to look again! So I am still looking for the Henbit version too... |
