| | | ID Shrub/Small Tree Hi, I was wondering what this tree/shrub is which is in my back garden.
I was trying to propagate some trimmings if your wondering why they're in a pot :P
The leaves are glossy and very thick, there seems to be small black buds on some parts of the plant, which look to be opening soon (maybe to reveal a blossom of some kind?). The size of the actual tree/shrub is around 5ft tall with branches/leaves starting around 2ft. The stems are like a corduroy texture going vertical down the branches. and the leaves are slightly curved (as you can see from the image).
Hope that's enough info, sorry I couldn't give a better picture, but my camera isn't that great.
Thanks |

As for the shrub, I'd have to admit I've no idea! Would it be possible to get another picture, preferably of the plant in its "natural" setting? |

| | | Re: ID Shrub/Small Tree I think its a cotoneaster species. The shiny dark green leave tops are a dead giveaway as are the pale hairy bottoms |

| | | Re: ID Shrub/Small Tree Ahh I'm sorry, should I remove the image?
It could be a Cotoneaster as you say, though it's fairly large for one, the larger leaves are about 3cm x 1cm but the texture of the leaves is almost the same as Cotoneaster (if I'm thinking of the right plant) I will take a picture of the whole tree tomorrow, and link it through this website (or try to anyway :P) |
