| | | Variegated leaves for ID Hi
Spotted these leaves coming through in the undergrowth. Anyone got any idea what they are?
Thanks |

| | | Re: Variegated leaves for ID It's subspecies argentatum of Yellow Archangel, Lamiastrum galeobdolon - the variegated form's a garden escape, although L. galeobdolon itself is a native plant.
Sometimes it's known as Silver Archangel, Variegated Archangel or Variegated Yellow Archangel, and it's becoming increasingly common as an escape, especially anywhere near civilization. Once out in the wild, it spreads at a hell of a rate |

| | | Re: Variegated leaves for ID agreed with Dave. Its L. galaeabdolon spp. argentatum. Its a rampant pest but the flowers are really nice. It should start to be in flower soon. |

I've only ever seen it in urban situations, waste-land mostly, and as far as I know it tends to mostly spread vegetatively (though seeds are certainly fertile; it can and does self-seed on occasions ) In the locations I've seen it, I'd welcome its' presence; it certainly livens up a dull winter hedgerow | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
