Well, it is somewhere damp!
Possibly someone will be able to give you an id from a photograph of the buds but to help the rest of us could you possibly give some idea of scale, position, if there any leaves, etc? |

sorry! I never think of these things, I take a *nice* photo - and then afterwards wonder what it is 
I don't think I can remember much about it at all - it was smallish - but that's probably no help? I think it was sitting amongst rhododendrons in Temple Newsam gardens - if that's any use?

pretty sure it's rhododendron :lol: just saw almost identical buds in the Gallery - they were listed as rhododendrons!

I think your onto something there Zoundz. I think yours are just a bit dead and moss covered. All the ones I have seen have been really shiny green like this one.
