In my collins, a perennial honesty is mentioned (l. rediviva) is this the common one L. annua?

Yes, the common Lunaria annua. The Perennial species is clump forming with a pale purple flower and is a very rare escape in the UK

And if you have the annual in your garden, as I have, you have
to be sure to let it go to seed - not cut it down until it is quite
dry and those lovely Japanese like see through seeds have matured.

I havent actually got it in the garden . I just saw it next to a path. I saw perrenial honesty in my book and got quite confused. so thanks for clearing it all up
