id berry please?

Hope this works as its the first time I have done this!

came across this berry and thought at first it was a sloe but as the bush is non-thorny decided its not. The berries are unripe at present and are changing from green to purple/black. they are about 1 cm diameter and have a central stone. the leaves are about 5 cm long and about 1.5-2 cm wide with serrated edge. leaves are a bit plum looking. I thought it may have been a bullace but one site says the fruits are about 2.5cm so cant be that.

Many fruits are smaller this year due to the draught earlier.

Could be a small Cherry Plum, Prunus cerasifera- the leaves look right, though these Prunus species do hybridize.

hi there,looks to me like wild cherry(prunus avium)leaves are alternate ,oval,sharpley toothed must have eaten several pounds of these over the last month"only just beating the birds to them" positive id needed:-)
