| | | Re: A 2009 plant-hunter's diary This little blue flower from Frenchay on December 4th turned out to be Bacopa, Sutera cordata, so that's another addition to my list; thanks to Tiggrx for help with the identification, I'd have to admit I'd never even heard of this plant before! I don't think it's frost-hardy, so I doubt it'll persist; a good find, even so
And one more "tick" that I'd forgotten to post; also from Frenchay, on November 17th, Ward's Cotoneaster ( Cotoneaster wardii) - with flowers and fruit next to each other on the same plant! Unusual, to say the least
Anyway, since we've just had a couple of inches of snow down here in the Bristol area, I'm sure these will be the last additions for 2009. I'm just looking forward to the start of Spring |

I have been very interested in all your photos and records as I complile the annual "Bristol Botany" report for the Bristol Naturalists' Society of new plant finds and had been recording garden escapes along the North Road edge of Leigh Woods, Bristol for over 30 years. Not the best time but I was there a week ago and saw some of what you mention; difficult for me to go too often as I live in Africa!
Grateful if you can contact me so I can get some details of the localities.
