| | | Re: on the tip of my tongue.... Initially I was leaning towards Annual Wall Rocket, but the single leaf, and a couple of the rosette leaves appear to have a slightly hairy appearance, so I'm going to stick my neck out and have a stab at Cat's Ear.

Mike. | thanks! If it is cats ear then it is a variation? There is cats ear all over this field but this is the only patch of these leaves I found....

Don't think it's a poppy due to basal rosette of leaves.

Problem with leaves is that so many individual species of plants have similar but yet quite variable leaves within their own species.
The shape of these leaves could be any one of what's been mentioned, and probably another ten plants that haven't yet been mentioned.
Not certain if a definitive ID will be obtained - It's Leifus's fault - he should have photographed it when it was flowering!!
