Have to say this book is absolutely fantastic. It is beautifully and precisely illustrated, the text per species is concise but contains all the necessary information, and the distribution of each species is shown on a small GB & Ireland map, which also indicates local abundance and increasing/decreasing trends.
The book is specific to Britain & Ireland, so is not diluted with european species, and covers Wild Flowers, Trees & Tall Shrubs, Aquatic Plants, Grasses Sedges & Rushes, Ferns Horsetails and Clubmosses, Scilly & Cornwall specialities, and Irish specialities.
I already have "Wildflowers of Britain & Northern Europe" by the same trio of authors, but this Britain & Ireland specific book is much more comprehensive.
I would urge anyone with an interest in British/Irish Wildflowers to seek out a copy. - I would be surprised if you don't buy it once you've seen it.
Regards
Mike.
