| | | Autumn 08 Well the trees have been really spectacular this year. All the reds and golds, so beautiful. Whilst walking the dog this morning there was just something about the light, it had started off a clear morning but was gradually becoming overcast by grey and it just set off the colours and left me feeling a bit melancholy in a way because it just brought back memories... well no not memories, but just a feeling of past times, like close my eyes and I'd be there type thing. Hmm. |

Does anyone else seem to think that sycamores have turned the most amazing yellow this year in particular? The yellow shades seem to me to be more prominent this autumn than any other - or is it my eyesight? my age?

Pauline | It certainly has that Pauline. Its raining again now.
Now that you mention it, there does seem to be a lot of yellow this year, but I can't say whether its more or less so than other years but I'm afraid the memory might not be so sharp. |

Pauline | Can't say that I noticed it with the Sycamore in our front garden, Pauline. Some lovely yellows, but no more than other years. |

Pauline | Must admit that some of the sycamores are pretty yellow!!!
The colours in general have been beautiful, unfortunately we have had some very windy days and the leaves are falling fast now.Mind you in places its a thick carpet of leaves-not a soggy mess yet

| | | Re: Autumn 08 My cherry tree is such a welcome sight first thing in a morning.... At about 7.45 ish the sun shines on my back garden as it rises, especially this morning, it shines through the cherry and the three silver birches I have in the garden the sight is somehow poignant and somehow exhilarating does that make sense? Such a wonderful shade of yellow. I love winter
