| | single plant growing in the pathway Hi all,
I was walking through an area that has fairly recently become a wildlife reserve. I spotted a single plant growing in the pathway. It is the only one I have seen in the area. anyone have any ideas for a name for it.
Thanks Dave |

| | | Re: single plant growing in the pathway Some of the flowers look as if they have some black on the inside. And the leafs look red and spiky. May go back to it in the morning if its not raining, and have a closer look. Maybe the flowers will have opened up more by then. I would like to get some better shots of it.

The open flowers look the same, but the black colour is intriguing me. |

It's pollen beetles Megalithes sp.
Endquote
Sorry to be pedantic but aren't pollen beetles Meligethes?
Megaliths are big stones (like Stonehenge) - couldn't get many of them in a Toadflax flower!
