Mystery Shrub

Hi there I would be delighted if anyone could identify this flowering bush...a french friend saw it in Wales and would like to try and grow it in the south of France but is having difficulty identifying it. The only thing that she could really tell me was that it is spring flowering. First time I have used this site so here's hoping.

It looks like Carpenteria californica, which needs a warm, sunny position. It flowers in July.

Hi there, thank you for that suggestion, I have emailed it to my friend and I am waiting for her to get back to me. Hopefully you are correct and the mystery will be solved! I will let you know what her response is.
