Canadian goldenrod, Solidago canadensis, photographed in March. Someone told me flattened stems on plants are caused by a virus.  |

A nine-petalled buttercup. There were actually ten petals, but as only nine can be seen, that will do!  |

As far as I'm aware, Yellow Pimpernel isn't supposed to have six petals, as the one on the right here does: -
