Found lots of these locally this last couple of weeks.
I understand that young shoots of the plant are edible, but are very bitter. (used as an asparagus substitute). The berries are not edible.

I've tried scattering the berries of Black Bryony in the hedge at the bottom of our garden a couple of years ago, but none have germinated.
